Happy 4th of July! This week we explored a wooded trail in NJ with Reno. It was so beautiful and peaceful on the trail. So many birds were singing and we even saw several deer. Reno loved the hike and he couldn't wait to see what was around each bend. I hope you enjoy the pictures!
See you soon. Love, Stef & Reno
I explored Lake George recently. Lake George is one of my favorite places to visit. I like the relaxed and the laid back vibe of the area. There are so many fun activities to do. I went in a rowboat on Lake George. I probably should have waited until there weren't so many waves! It was really difficult to row, but I couldn't resist getting in the boat and going for it!
I also went horseback riding. I love horseback riding and this trail ride was quite spectacular. The horses took us back on some wooded trails and up a mountain. At one point, we had a spectacular view of Lake George high up on the mountain.
I also recommend exploring the lake itself in one of the chartered cruises or boats. You can really get a closer look at all of the areas within the lake. There is one cove called Paradise Bay. It is definitely worth seeing. I hope you enjoy the pictures below.
See you soon! Love, Stef
This week we visited Colonial Park in New Jersey. The day was absolutely beautiful, and I couldn't wait to get outside. I really like this park because it has beautiful places to walk. If you are not in the mood for hiking trails and want more of an open feel, then this park would be a great choice to visit. The park has a very open feel and a lot of the spots are so scenic that they remind me of a watercolor painting. There are also lots of outdoor fitness areas.
One of my favorite areas of the park is Rudolf W. Van Der Goot Rose Garden. The garden has some spectacular flowers in it and lots of places to sit. Dogs are not allowed in this area, but I highly recommend checking it out if you are without a dog.
Reno had a blast. He loves going on 'field trips.' The sky was so blue and I couldn't resist getting a lot of pictures of him. I brought a cold bottle of water in order to keep him hydrated. We also took a lot of breaks by sitting under some gorgeous trees that offered plenty of shade.
I hope you enjoy the slideshow of all of the pictures!

Reno had so much fun the other weekend hiking the Delaware Raritan Canal. We decided to go back with Reno and explore another area of the canal by Lake Carnegie. It was truly beautiful! I loved walking by the canal on one side me and the lake on the other. There was lots of shade from all of the beautiful trees. I felt like some spots along our walk would make for a beautiful painting.
Reno is ready to go on an adventure!
He can't wait to go in the car.
Reno loves adventure and being outside.
See you soon! Love, Stef
I recently hiked part of the Delaware Raritan Canal with Reno. The area is absolutely gorgeous. Reno enjoyed walking by the water. The flat ground made for an easier hike with him because it is relatively flat. Reno is getting a little older now and I am looking for places that he can hike that don't put a lot of stress on his joints. Please check out the pictures below!
Here is Reno taking a short break.
We did it! Good job, Reno!
See you soon!
Enter for a chance to win "A Festive Siberian Husky" on Goodreads!
Happy Halloween! xoxo, Stef & Reno
I am so excited to announce that my new adult coloring book, "A Festive Siberian Husky," is now available! I have been working on this book for quite awhile and it has been really fun to create. The idea for the book came to me as I walked my Siberian Husky, Reno, around on the New York City streets last winter. People just lit up seeing how happy Reno was in the cold weather. I decided that I would try and make a book that had all of my favorite elements of the fall and winter season.
"A Festive Siberian Husky" contains thirty-five illustrations in the book. A few illustrations contain Siberian Husky puppies, while most include adult male and female Siberian Huskies. Some scenes take place indoors in cozy homes, while others are outside in the fall leaves and snow. Most scenes are drawn in realistic-style, but there are several drawn in a more light-hearted cartoon style for fun. Some holidays are sprinkled throughout the book including Halloween, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas, New Year's Eve, and Valentine's Day. I hope you enjoy the book!

This Week's Place To See In New York City:
Fraunces Tavern Museum and Restaraunt
One of my all time favorite New York City destinations is Fraunces Tavern Museum and Restaurant. Step back in time while visiting this historic site at 54 Pearl Street. The site served as a headquarters for George Washington and peace negotiations with the British took place here, too.
Enjoy touring the museum and then head over to the restaurant and have some delicious fare. I really enjoyed the pot pie. The drinks are superb, too.

This Week's Place To See in NYC
The Mount Vernon Hotel Museum and Garden
I was so surprised that I had never visited this hidden gem in New York City. This beautiful historic site is operated by the Colonial Dames of America. It is located at 421 East 61st Street. It is one of only eight still-standing buildings in Manhattan from this time period. It was originally built as a stable and carriage house in 1799. Later, it was transformed into a day hotel in 1826.
The hotel served as a great getaway from the busy day to day life of New York City. Visitors would stop in for refreshments, lemonade, spirits, and water. The interior of the hotel is beautiful and it feels like traveling back in time to that era upon visiting. Admission is available for $8.00 for adults and tours run from 11:00 - 4:00 on a walk in basis. It is also worth noting that the museum has many fun events that run throughout the year.
Next week I will be bringing you another fun place to visit in the tri-state area! Keep reading below for more Reno, nature, and fashion...

This was one of my favorite shoots with Reno. Here he is my little dire wolf. This shoot we were depicting a modern Game of Thrones style. Dress by DVF.
It is almost trench coat season! I love looking for a trench coat that can last for many seasons. Trench coats are so versatile they can be worn over jeans to over a elegant cocktail dress. This one is by Karen Millen.

I thought I would start chronicling some of my favorite weekend activities in New York City. I visited the Hamilton Grange National Museum recently, and it was just beautiful. The two-story Federal-style house was completed in 1802. It was fondly named "The Grange" by Alexander Hamilton. It was Hamilton's country home in NYC and a place he loved.
The museum is a National Park site. The site is located at 414 West 141st Street. I took the express A train to 145th Street. The local B and C trains also are an option. I recommend looking up specific tour times before arrival. A guided tour by a park ranger allows you access to the second floor. Before the tour, you will see a short fifteen-minute movie about Alexander Hamilton's life. The movie is fascinating. I liked learning more about Alexander Hamilton's early life and all of the struggles he overcame as a young boy.
After the movie, a park ranger will lead you to the second floor. Here you will find a beautiful entryway, a living room that was used for entertaining, a stately dining room, and two smaller rooms. The high ceilings and molding within the house are quite impressive, especially considering the time period.
Towards the end of the tour, you will watch a short movie detailing how the house was moved in 2006 from its prior location two blocks away. The house was also moved in 1889.
Please join me next week and I will detail another fun weekend spot to visit in NYC!
Here are some other moments from this week. The weather was a bit cooler in NYC, and Reno and I had a blast taking advantage of many Central Park moments!
See you next week! xoxo, Stef
I love spending my time outdoors and writing about my Siberian Husky, Reno! I also write about nature, beauty, fitness, and fashion. xoxo
